On friday the 9th of December, the annual event Trendgalan is held in Stockholm. A big event with a lot of speakers showing all about the latest trends…

The sometimes daily updated news
ICA launched their self scan service in stores 10 years ago and it has been hugely successful ever since. Not only does it save time for the customers but it also frees up the staff so they can offer better service in the store. Now it’s possible to shop with your own mobile instead of the bulky handheld scanners.
The pilot is now available in two selected stores in the Stockholm area (Ica Maxi in Solna and Ica Supermarket in Kista).
We’ve worked hard to include the self scan functionality in the ICA Handla app so that it will work seamlessly with other popular features such as recipes and shopping lists.
Try it out and let us know what you think!
You are hereby invited to join us for breakfast and some new insights on Thursday 24th of April. The first topic for the year is Loyalty & CRM!
Today traditional campaign management and CRM are constantly challenged by real-time events where the customer him-/herself seeks interactions with a brand or a company.
So how do we really create a relevant dialogue with our customers? What is our view on the problem and how do we change our daily routine to make it work?
Mattias Olsson, Strategy & Design Director at apegroup and Ola Ottosson, Senior Analyst at ActionBase will spend this morning elaborating on those question.
If you are a Marketing Director, Business Director or/and Head of CRM, loyalty programs and campaigns, and by any chance even a Chief Customer Officer this event is a must.

08.30 – Presentation

This weekend Hack for Sweden took place at Naturvårdsverket in our beloved capital city, Stockholm.
In a unique collaboration between thirteen authorities and organizations an opportunity was given to closer to 30 teams from all around Sweden. During the weekend the participating teams got the chance to develop new and innovative products and services with the help of location-centric open or free data. The aim was to inspire greater use of the authorities products and services to the public.
Of course Apegroup was on location represented by team Tummen Upp (Thumbs Up) consisting of Arvid Wollin, Jenna Jonsson, Ola Bratt and Veronika Ekström.
We are proud to announce that our colleagues won the category Public Good with their application Art App! Art App transforms it’s user into a modern Carl von Linné. By the help of a digital loupe and your current geo-position you will be able to report and access sightings from the surrounding nature (both in a live feed and an easy accessible map view). The application also gives the user access to the insanely large art database that is full of species from the Swedish flora and fauna.
Now let’s just hope that our fellow colleagues takes this service from an early beta and creates the real deal!
Arvid, Veronika and Jenna digs right in.
We should have been monitoring the brain activity on Jenna, Ola and Veronika right here.
Cudos for the presentation that was held in a very Kraftwerk-ish manner.
A well deserved win in the category Public Good. Thumbs Up!
So, what is TechEq?
- TechEq is something as unique as an initiative between tech- and digital companies that are competitors on a daily basis. Together we will make something valuable and do something about the equality at our place of work. Good ideas and experiences will be shared and cooperation will proceed between the member companies.
Why did Apegroup choose to be a part of it?
- We are a company that’s in the forefront when it comes to creating great and innovative user experiences, but we want to be in that leading position in all areas and aspects of the modern day life. For us striving for equality is a no brainer and if we get a chance to lead by example, of course we’ll grab that opportunity and run with it!
So how does it look in numbers and what do we strive for?
- Today we are 74 employees and out of them 14 are women. That’s 19% in total. We will work with this during the year and the goal is of course to get an even higher level of percentage. We are super excited about the whole thing!

Today we have some updates we would like to share with you all. Both an iPad version of an old favourite and and a brand new feature that will really simplify all of MTG’s Play apps.
First off! We just released an iPad version of the ICA Handla application! It has most of the appreciated features from the ICA Handla app for iPhone. But this time around we put extra effort into the cooking experience!
We have also done some pretty neat updates on the MTG application by bringing all TV-channels to one single platform. So from now on there is one app to rule them all!
Last week Dagens Industri had the privilege of visiting our brand new office, have a coffee and talk to us about… well… us! A perfect chance to tell them not only about the journey we’ve made so far, but especially where we are heading in the future.
This article was presented exclusively to DIs subscribers and we will post a link as soon as it’s up on their site. But until then you can actually click on the picture below and read the whole thing anyway!
It’s been quite the year this one!
Apegroup made it onto the DI Gasell-list as one of the fastest growing companies in Sweden. Of course this is something we take great pride in pulling of and is more than excited about!
We was nominated at Mobilgalan for our collaboration, Dermicus, together with our dear friend Johan Heilborn.
We also got on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50-list. This is also something we are deeply thankful for.
We made some new clients that we are very happy about that we get to work with. There is some pretty cool stuff coming your way. Rest assured!
And last but not least. We’ve gotten to know and love 26 great new colleagues that joined our Apegroup family this year.
Apegroup is already looking forward to what next year might have in store for us. What we already do know is that we will kick it off with a brand new office! But more on that to come…
Happy Holidays everyone!
Well hi there! This morning we held our second breakfast seminar of many great to come. A number of happy and hungry visitors came to our office eager to learn something new and maybe get some ideas of their own. Together we took a morning snack and a seat to listen to our Head of UX, Rogier Beeftinks take on how to solve the puzzle of multi screens. Also Joakim Oscarsson, User Experience Strategist at Apegroup, gave everybody a little tease on what’s to come on one of our upcoming events. Let’s just say he talked about something that hopefully BLEw people away.
All in all it was a very educational and fun seminar and we are looking forward to the next one already!
We want to say thank you to everyone who showed up and give a big round of applause to our speakers Rogier and Joakim.
Oh! Sorry about the pictures. The caffeine hadn’t kicked in…
On Thursday the 26th Mobile Health Summit is held at Bygget Fest & Konferens and of course we are sending one of our apes there!
Mobile Health Summit is a half day of keynotes, real life cases and a panel discussions to highlight what the key opportunities and challenges within the mobile wellness and healthcare area is and might become.
Our Head of Business, Daniel Eliasson together with Johan Heilborn, Department of Dermatology, at Karolinska, will be presenting a case on quicker diagnosis and cost savings with doctor-to-doctor collaborations.
You can find tickets and more info on the event right here.
This monday, Apegroup invited more than 60 developers and designers for a CocoaHeads meetup dedicated to the upcoming Apple iOS 7 for iPhones and iPads. The soon to be released operating system which is in beta for registered developers, takes a drastic new look and approach to user interface design and provides developers with new frameworks and workflows.
While the attendees enjoyed a couple of beers and some wraps, our own über-apes Alek and Veronica held presentations about what’s new for developers and a case study of transforming an old iPhone app to the latest and greatest. And we must say they did a fantastic job!
Among the external speakers were Max Rudberg talking about how to approach iOS 7′s new design language and Nevyn doing live-programming of a game using Apple’s new game framework SpriteKit. Many thanks goes out to the CocoaHeads Stockholm organizer Marthin Freij for letting us host the event.
And another thing… As soon as the NDA lifts, we’ll upload a video of the whole shebang!
“I think last night probably was one of my favorite CocoaHeads so far. Great speakers, great topics! Nevyns presentation was pure joy, a stand-up version of real time coding” – Satisfied guest
